CapacityCorps

Rebuilding Together’s National AmeriCorps program is called Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps. We have 65 full-time AmeriCorps members serving in 36 affiliates in 18 states.

CapacityCorps members serve essential roles in building the capacity of their host site organizations in important program areas such as recruiting and managing volunteers, performing direct home repair, doing outreach to find homeowners to serve, building community partnerships and creating new programs.

AmeriCorps
Each year, AmeriCorps offers 75,000 opportunities for adults of all ages and backgrounds to serve through a network of partnerships with local and national nonprofit groups. Areas of service range from community development, providing youth mentoring and helping to protect the environment. National Rebuilding Month and Day

April is National Rebuilding Month and Day, which brings national attention to the struggle low-income homeowners and families go through to remain in a home that is safe, healthy, warm, and efficient. Rebuilding Together is not only able to serve these families across the nation, but the media and public attention which we receive gives momentum to our cause and doing so we are able to effectively reach more homeowners in the upcoming year.

Our signature event, National Rebuilding Day, occurs on the last Saturday of April. It is the day when Rebuilding Together affiliates from all parts of the country plan projects to celebrate the organization’s mission. On National Rebuilding Day, volunteers join local affiliate leaders to repair and restore houses thus revitalizing entire communities and making a lasting impression on the families whom we serve. By helping their neighbors, many volunteers are left with positive experiences which cause them to return year after year.

National Rebuilding Month and Day are unique because it does not solely depend on Rebuilding Together and Corporate Sponsors, but also on the spirit of the volunteers. Most of the heavy work and inspiration would not be possible without the volunteers from across the nation coming together to help their neighbors.
